Create a Book Blog Hop

Today - March 2, is Read Across America Day and in honor of the day we are creating books.  So Happy you could join us!  First off, I would like to thank Ms. Joy of Joylife.com for including me in this FUN Hop.  I'm Super Excited and honored.  If you are coming from Ruthie's blog, then you are in the right place.  If not then you will want to start at the beginning with Ms. Joy's blog.  I have listed all the blogs in this hop, at the bottom of my post.  In case you get lost.  So I had never made a book before, but when I read about this blog I knew it was something I wanted to do.  It was a bit of a challenge for me, not sure what I wanted my book to be about.  So I decided to make it a picture book with a Fun reminder of something very dear to my heart.  Earth day!, Yay, for Mother Earth!!  I'm really big on reusing things, especially in this craft.  I recycle all cereal and treat boxes, and use them for my mini albums and embellishments and cut outs.  For my project, I had this paper bag that I got when purchasing an item at an antique shop.  I was going to just throw it away, but the more I looked at it the more I thought, "hey, I can reuse this".  So I started playing with it and stated folding it, and then Vola!  I had my Mini Book!

I used my paper collection from Cosmo Cricket - Mr. Campy to decorate my book.

So my picture book, is about Loving the Earth and making a difference by doing simple things, like "Planting Trees"!

I cut all the pictures out with my cricut, using the following carts.
Freshly Picked, Give a Hoot, and Kate's ABCs

I especially like the way Little Kate came out.  Love that she is reading under the Tree she planted...

This is the back cover.
I really hope you all enjoyed this as much as I enjoyed making it.  So, if you follow my blog, then you will know that I am doing a Super Giveaway for the Month of March!  Since I am in several blog hops this month I decided to just have one Huge Giveaway!  So  all you have to do is, become a follower if you are not one already.   Leave me a comment here and a way to contact you, if you are the Lucky Winner.  I will be choosing ONE Lucky winner at the end of March.  Good Luck!  Now on to your next stop which will be the lovely, Ms.  Scraps2Treasures - http://scraps2treasure.blogspot.com/ , Thanks for stopping by and have a Great Day!

HUGS,
Martha
