Flaunt It Friday's Challenge- Turtle cut from Create a Critter

Okay so here is my project for the Flaunt it Friday's weekly Challenge.  The Challenge this week was to create something, using the Turtle cut from the Create a Critter Cartridge.  This is the first time I try out this challenge.  Had a blast creating these little guys.  It was perfect because my cousin, just had her first baby boy and I was able to use these turtles in a Layout for her.  This is her first, so this is a very special Layout, the baby's name is Leon IV and he is just "Turtlely Sweet"...LOL!!  Okay I couldn't resist.  Well I hope you all enjoy it.  Thank you to Flaunt it Friday's for this great challenge.  Have a safe and Happy New Year everyone!!!

Cricut Imagine Challenge- My Pink Imagine-Nation Wednesday

So this is my first time entering this challenge, but I've had my Imagine for 2 months now, and I thought this would be a good reason to try it out.  I used the Kate's Kitchen cartridge and just love it!  It has a very retro feel about it.  I wanted to do something different, so I decided to make a Wall Hanging Menu.  I cut the Imagine in layers and then inked the edges.  I spray painted the top of a game box and then added more paint.  The I printed some pattern paper and cut out some boards for my board.  I also cut out a set of oven mittens and a rolling pin for embellishments.  Then I attached some chalk paper to the center. (You can actually write on it!)  I also attached a piece of chalk.  Well I really like the way this turned out.  Hope you enjoy it.

Hope you have a Great day.

Witches Hats- "How To"

I am so sorry, this is sooo late, but I have been fighting a mean cold and still do not feel right.  I had wanted to post a video to show you exactly how these were made, but I have no voice!!!  So here are the quick instructions.

you will need the following:

poster boards- (depending on how many hats you will be making, 1 pb per hat)
about 12-14 sheets of double sided pattern paper
ribbon and Trims
embellishments- bling, buttons, and charms
paper trimmer
hot glue gun
circle cutter- Large
liquid Glue- one that dries clear

1.  Roll the poster board to form a cone.  Glue the ends together to keep cones shape.  Trim the bottom off to form a flat smooth surface. ( Don't worry if you crease the cone when trimming bottom, you are going to cover this up.)

2.  Once you have this done, you will start covering the cone with your pattern paper, there is no right order to this step.  Make it your own. When you start covering the top tip you will use about 10 inches of pattern paper, cover the top portion, leaving enough of the pattern paper to form a crooked tip.  You will form the tip by crumbling paper to make it look worn.  Remember to glue all your ends. (You will get glue everywhere.  This is why you need to use liquid glue that dries clear.)

3.  Next you will set the cone aside and work on the bottom rim.  Cut the largest circle you can using your circle cutter, (about 11 inches).  You will cut two circles and then adhere them together.  then you will fold the circle in half and pinch the center then fold the opposite way and pinch the center again, forming an X.

4.  Cut the center of the X, flip circle over and place your cone in the center, trace the bottom of the cone onto your pattern paper with a pencil.  From the center cut on your circle you will cut strips to the traced line, (do not go beyond the traced line.)

5.  Now place the cone over the center of the circle once again and glue it to the rim, remember to use your clear drying glue.  Once it is dry you will flip hat over and fold the strips inward and glue.  Now you hat is complete.

6.  Start decorating it.  Remember have fun with it!!! No one Witch Hat is the same!!!  I use some crepe trim to add flare to my rim.  Make It Your Own!!  Have fun...

Gaby Abby Challenges with SEI Week 3

Good morning everyone, I hope you all are doing well.  I have been dealing with a very bad cold, but somehow still found time to make this super cute mini card, to entry for the Gaby Abby Challenge.  I really like the way it came out.  I used my new Gypsy (Yay) and used the Christmas cards cartridge and the Mini Monster Cartridge.    I removed the center of the card and then welded the mini monster onto the card and Vola!!!  Then I decided to make a shaker box and added some fun buttons and some glitter.  The spider is made from  a plastic toy that I glued a gem to it and then cut off the ring on the back.

For the inside of the card I stamped the sentiment using the Martha Stewart Holiday Stamp set and used the Lumiere acrylic paint.  I just love these paints!  Then I added some googly eyes to it.

and there you have it, I hope you enjoy this.  Thanks for stopping by.  Have a Great day.
