"Dia De Los Reyes" Blog Hop

Happy Birthday to Gaby Creates daughter Yajaira!!!!  Welcome to El Día De Los Reyes Magos Blog Hop.
El Día De Los Reyes Magos is celebrated around the WORLD!  I hope you are coming from Martha C http://dreamofcrafting.blogspot.com/ , if not you will want to start from the begining at Gaby http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.gabycreates.com%2F&h=43717, so you won't miss out on any of the Great projects these ladies have put together.  Gabby Creates is celebrating her daughter's birthday with 6 giveaways!  In order to enter the Grand Prize You MUST:
1-Visit and leave a comment on every blog
2-and collect a letter or word from the blogs
3-email the phrase to scrapabookaholic at hotmail dot com
4-(DO NOT enter the phrase on the comment- email it to scrapabookaholic@hotmail.com)

Here is a bit of info on how it is celebrated in México.

The presents are not received on Christmas, for Christmas is a celebration of Life of Our Savior.
The children's celebration of receiving presents is not until January 6th, "el día de Reyes", the day of the Kings, or the Wise Men Day. It is the Magi who brought the presents to the Baby Jesus, thus, they bring the toys to the boys and girls who have been good. The children place their shoes by the window, so the Magi place the present in the shoe. It the present is bigger than the shoe, it will be placed next to it.

El dia de Reyes is celebrated with a "Merienda" consisting of hot chocolate and "The Rosca de Reyes". "La Merienda is the meal that takes. place any time between 5 P.M. and 7 P.M. it is not a heavy meal but the equivalent of "High Tea".

The Rosca de Reyes is a big oval wreath made out of egg bread (like an egg bagel, but huge) with dry fruit decorations and sprinkled sugar on top, but inside, there is a little ceramic/plastic doll which represents the Baby Jesus. The person who gets the piece of bread with the Baby, must be the Godparent of the Baby Jesus in the celebration of the Candelaria, on February 2nd

Well, even though I am Hispanic, I have to admit that this holiday was some what of a Learning experience for me.  I had always seen the "Roscas" but never really knew what they were for or what they represented.  So for my project I decided to make a "Rosca"! (Out of paper of course) LOL!!  I think it came out okay.  I also wanted to make a card to go with the Rosca.  Well I hope you enjoy this:

Okay so before I forget my special word for you to collect is "Your".
Hahaha, come on guys did you really think I would not have any Candy for you!  I do and it is Wonderful!!  So here it is:
What do you have to do to win, well it's easy, 1.  Just leave me a comment telling me what you would like to see more of on my blog.  and  2. become a follower if you are not one already, let me know in you comment.  Please, Please include your email info, so I can reach you in case you are the lucky winner.  I will pick a winner on Monday, Jan. 10th.  I will use Random.org to pick a winner.  Good luck to you all!
